Rosa, CA real estate!
Like many cities
of the Sonoma Valley, Santa Rosa was once inhabited by the Native
Americans of this continent. With evidence of tribes such as the Pomo,
Miwok, and Wappo Indians, the rich history of this city started
centuries ago. The current city was settled in the 1800’s by the
Spanish, as was the rest of the wine country area, and got its name
when a Spanish Missionary was performing baptisms on the feast day of
Saint Rosa. Going with the tradition of naming places after saints, the
river, and eventually the settlement was named Santa Rosa.
In
the early 1850’s, Santa Rosa was given attention from people passing
through in search of some of California’s infamous gold. These people
noticed the fertile soil and the beautiful weather, and began to build
where present day Santa Rosa sits. The city was incorporated in the
year of 1868, and has grown from that point on; becoming the beautiful
city it is today. The historical value of this town combined with the
friendly atmosphere makes Santa Rosa a wonderful place to purchase
realty and to raise a family.
