Foothills Regional Park consists of 211 acres and offers many miles of trails for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding, along with three small lakes for fishing. Shiloh Ranch Regional Park consists of 850 acres and offers over three miles of trails for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Geyserville
In April, 1847, that intrepid bear-killer, William Bell Elliott, who had crowded many adventures into nearly half a century of living, received the surprise of his life. Hunting grizzlies in the mountains of Sonoma County between Cloverdale and Calistoga, he came upon a narrow canyon which he thought surely must be the Gate of Hades. Packed between the barren, many-hued banks of the narrow gorge for a distance of a quarter mile were a number of hot springs, fumaroles, and steam vents, all appearing to smoke “like the ruins of a recently burned city.” The Geysers which were not geysers after all, but gave our town its name, had been discovered. Geyserville is temperate year-round, surrounded by wineries, has a small population of 2,100, and elevation of 205. Family-run restaurants and charming bed and breakfast inns provide comfortable and tempting additional reasons for spending a day or a week in the area.

Cotati
Cotati is located approximately eight miles south of Santa Rosa, nine miles north of Petaluma and 47 miles north of San Francisco near Highway 101. Named after a Miwok Native American village, Kota’ti, the peaceful-looking region with its rolling hills and colorful fields is primarily a residential community made up of agriculture and local business enterprise.

Cloverdale
Cloverdale is located 85 miles north of San Francisco in the rich grape growing region of Alexander Valley. With world-renowned wineries to the south and majestic redwoods to the north, Cloverdale is known for being the city “where wine country meets the redwoods.” However, the city was named for the fields of clover that settlers found here when they arrived in the mid 1800’s.

Rohnert Park
Rohnert Park is one of the first planned communities in the United States. The city was designed with families in mind, with the focus being on children. Each Rohnert Park neighborhood was designed around a city park and elementary school, and the tree-lined streets are connected by bikeways and walkways. The city is also home to Sonoma State University, which offers 9 credential programs and eight undergraduate and graduate certificate programs. Although the original designers focus was children, the needs of seniors were not left out. Rohnert Park staffs a Senior Center that is located adjacent to The Altamont, an active senior living complex. The senior living complex is within an easy walk to city transportation and shopping. Rohnert Park also offers plenty of employment opportunities. The city is located in the center of the 16-mile business corridor known as the Telecom Valley, one of the fastest growing telecommunications areas in the world.
